Antimonium Sulphuratum Auratum

G- olden Sulphur et of Antimony. Sh^S^.

Introduced by Glauber, 1654, and abused as a purgative and an emetic. Proved by Mayrhoffer, in 1845, published by Buchner, in 1874.

^ Mind. Apprehensiveness with heaviness in praecordium. ^ Inner Head. Pressive headache.

■ Burning in the head. ^ Eye complaints.

* Outer Head. Reddish swelling behind the right ear, leaving a

redness and scurfiness. ® Eyes. ! Amaurosis, in the beginning.

■ Spots on the cornea.

I Iris protruding through the cornea. ^ Nose. ' ' Bleeding from the nose on washing.

Increased mucus from nose and throat. ^^ Mouth. Pasty mouth and taste in the morning. 13 Throat. Burning and heat in the fauces.

Mucus from the throat becomes offensive to smell. Pressure in the throat as if a plug stuck in it. Scratching, rough feeling in the throat in the morning. ^^ Appetite. Loss of appetite ; almost a loathing of food. ^^ Stomach.

Pressure and fullness in stomach. ^^ Abdomen. Pressure, tension and fullness in abdomen ; umbili- cal region sensitive. ^^ Stool. Passage of much flatus with sudden urging, followed by a stool solid at first, then bright yellow and pasty ; after- wards violent colic and rumbling around the navel. Constipation ; feces hard and passed with diflBculty. ^^ Urine.

Urine increased, dark-red. ^^ Male Sexual Organs. Pustular eruption on scrotum after

much itching. ^^ Larynx and Bronchia. Accumulation of tough mucus in the bronchi and larynx. I I Increased mucous secretion with fullness in the bronchi, and full, hard breathing. ^® Breathing. I Respiration difficult. ^'' Cough. 'Dry, hard cough, no expectoration.

Increased mucous sputum, mixed with blood, of a sweetish taste. ^^ Lungs. B Passive congestion of the upper lobe of left lung, with

dry, hard cough. ^' Heart. Heaviness in the praecordium and apprehensiveness.

^^ Upper Limbs. Arms heavy in the morning. Coring and tearing in arms and hand-joints. Swelling of the fingers. ^* Limbs in General. I Itching on hands and feet. 36 Nerves. iMalaise, fatigue and lassitude with nausea. " Sleep. Deep sleep.

Sleep dreamy ; wakes after midnight with dull headache ; with

restlessness and sexual desire. Awoke suddenly with heavy, confused head, pressure in the stomach, diflBcult breathing, fullness of the bronchi, restless tossing; skin active, with slight warmth and even sweat. Sleep dreamy with sudden waking after midnight, gouty and rheumatic pains increased. ^* Time. Morning : pasty taste in mouth ; scratching in throat ; arms feel heavy.

After midnight : awakens with dull headache ; restless ; sexual desire increased ; gouty and rheumatic pains worse. ^^ Temperature. Washing causes nosebleed. *^ Locality. Left : upper lobe of lung congested. ^^ Skin. Dry? elevated pustules on inner surface of thighs. *^ Relationship.
