[Has suffered for twelve years with rheumatism in all his joints; complains very much of his right femur paining him severely, and feeling sore to the touch, just over the neck of the bone; had had a cough for ten months, which troubles him mainly in the morning, becoming harsh and dry towards evening; the sputa raised is a tough green substance and comes up rather easily; towards evening he raises a white frothy sputa when any is raised; is of a somewhat peevish disposition and quite uneasy and restless at times.]

Feels quite happy and elated (second and third day), [3] .

Confusion. Confusion in the head, with slight nausea, [1b] .

Head feels as if he had been intoxicated the day previous (after one hour, second day) and (third day), [3] . General Head.

Heavy feeling in the head, and a dull aching just in the top of the head (three hours after second dose, first day), [2] . Head feels heavy when endeavoring to rise (second and third day), [3] .

Head felt very heavy, as if he could not lift it from the pillow (eight hours and a half after second dose, first night); still felt heavy, aching now and then, pain felt as if in the bones of the skull and mainly on the left side, after awakening (second morning), [2] .

Headache on awakening, [1a] . Stitching pains in the head, [1a] .

Forehead. Dull pains in the forehead, [1] . [10.]

Dull pressing pain in both temples, following the pain in the right maxillary bone; temples felt as if something heavy were pressing on them (two hours and twenty minutes after first dose, first day), [2] .

Sharp neuralgic pain in the temples, most on the right side, extending to the back of the head, behind the ears; (these pains seem to define the course of the nerves wherever they are felt), [1] .

Stitches in the temples, [1a] . Parietals.

Stitch-pain in the right side of head, [1a] .

Occiput. Violent itching of the occiput, [1a] .

Eye.

Eyes bloodshot (with pain in eyes), [1a] .

Pain in the eyes; eyes bloodshot, [1a] .

Right eye felt sore and as if bruised (second morning), [2] . [20.] Eyes smart and burn, but no appearance of any congestion (second and third day), [3] .

Eyes smarting and stinging (six hours after first dose, first day), [3] .

Vision. Eyes sensitive to light (second and third day), [3] .

Objects appear tessellated, red (disappeared after rising), [1a] .

The longest continued, and the last to disappear, were the eye symptoms and the peculiar odor, [3] .

Ear.

Ears feel dry and feverish (after first dose, first day), [3] . Ears feel full, dry, and feverish (after one hour, second and third day), [3] .

After stitches leave the ear, the ear feels too full (after first dose, first day), [3] . Neuralgic pain in the left ear, [1a] .

Shooting in right ear (with dull pain in forehead), [1b] .

Toothache in decayed teeth , most in the upper jaw, and on the right side (these pains come and go quickly), [1] . Sharp pain in the upper teeth, both sides, [1a] .

Metallic taste in the mouth (second and third day), [3] ; continuing most of the day (second day), [2] .

Dryness of throat and lips (first and second days), [3] . [50.] Dryness of the throat, with rawness on swallowing, [1] . Dryness of the throat, with bitter taste, [1] .

Stitch-pain in the right side of the throat, [1] .

Iliac Region. Sharp pain in the right inguinal region, [1a] . [60.]

Teeth feel sore and as if too long (second day), [2] . Sore pain in right inguinal region, [1] .

Rectum And Anus.

Desire for stool (with cutting in right inguinal region, [1b] . Desire as for a liquid stool, [1a] .

Bowels have not been moved for thirty-six hours (second day), [3] .

Bowels not moved as usual; anus felt as if drawn up into the rectum (first day), [2] .

Urine very yellow, [1a] . Urine very yellow and smelling like saffron tea (second and third days), [3] .

Cough and wheezing from mucus in the throat, on going to bed, [1a] .

(Coughs less and raises easily), (after one hour, second day), [2] .

(Sputa less in amount), (after one hour, second day), [3] . Respiration.

Felt as though he were smothering; room felt too close although freely ventilated (eight hours and a half after second dose, first night), [2] .

Felt as if something heavy were resting on the chest, preventing a free expansion of the chest; this sensation lasted half an hour, gradually becoming less intense, and as it did so appeared to diffuse itself in the extremities again (nine hours after second dose, first night), [2] .

Pain in the left chest, [1] . Sharp pain in the right chest, [1a] .

Stitch in right chest, running through to lower angle of shoulder-blade, [1a] .

Chest feels sore when taking a long breath (second and third day), [3] .

Dull sore pain in apex of right lung; on breathing the lung felt as though two ulcerated surfaces were in contact (four hours and a half after first dose, first day), [2] . [80.]

Both lungs feel as if a heavy cold had been taken and had settled there (after nine hours, second day); the soreness in the lungs lasted two day after this, [2] . Pain concentrated in left breast, very severe; it was estimated a little to the right of the nipple; at first felt as if a deep ulcer had formed there, then became like a hand grasping the base of the heart (nine hours after second dose, first night); aching in left breast at times, but not severe as during the night (second day), [2] .

Heart And Pulse.

Occasional stitches through the heart (second and third day), [3] .

Pulse 88 (nine hours after second dose, first night), [2] .

Neck And Back.

Back of the neck sore as if bruised (second and third day), [3] .

Pain in the back along the spine, [1] .

Spine feels sore, does not wish it touched (second and third day), [3] .

Extremities In General. [90.] Left arm pained severely, also left leg, particularly at the lower half of tibia and fibula, then extending into foot, becoming less in half an hour (eight hours and a half after second dose, first night), [2] .

Left arm and leg pain as if bruised; as pain increases the muscles feel as if ulcerated (second day), [2] .

Rheumatic pain in the right arm, worse when using it , [1] .

Sharp pains in nerves of left arm and back, [1b] . Pain in left arm as if bruised, worse when touched, in the morning, [1] .

Stitches in the left shoulder, [1] .

Severe aching in the left humerus; muscles around the bone felt as if severely bruised (four hours after first dose, first day), [2] . Stitching pain in left arm and shoulder (after two hours, third day), [3] . [100.]

Pain in left elbow, [1] . Pain in the nerves of the left hand, [1] .

General Symptoms.

Subjective. Susceptible to the heat of the weather, [1b] .

Fine sharp pains all over, [1] . [120.]

Pain seems to sharply define the course of the nerves, [1a] . Neuralgic pains in various parts of the body, [1a] .

Neuralgic pains flying all over him at times, for three days (after two days), [2] .

Pains renewed in bed; right side of head, right shoulder, right arm, hand, fingers, thigh, leg, foot, toes, [1a] .

Pains renewed when riding in the cars, [1a] .

Sleep And Dreams.

Very drowsy, and remained so for two hours (after two hours, second day), [2] .

Slept soundly until 1.30 A.M., then awakened suddenly; restless and unable to sleep any more till 4.30; then slept about an hour and a half being partially conscious, and the followed a deep heavy sleep; on awakening it seemed as though he could not get aroused (first night), [2] . [130.]

Dreams, confused, of accident, etc., [1a] .

Chilliness. Shuddering after urination, which had disappeared after use of remedies, returned, [1a] .

Perspire easily from motion, [1] .

Perspiration on head, [1b] .
