The Aethusa Cynapium is a powerful narcotic poison, affecting first the sensorium, and through it the liver, producing by its irritating influences functional disturbances of this organ, arresting its secretory function, and giving rise to the various so-called "bilious" conditions of a low form and intense degree. Its most essential feature is an intolerance of milk, particularly in children ; the milk is forcibly ejected soon after taken. Characteristic symptoms.
