Reason for useCowperthwaite

Acts preeminently as a cerebro-spinal irritant, producing tetanus, epileptic and epileptiform convulsions, trismus, and local tonic and clonic spasms in general. Its action closely resembles that of Nux vomica , with the important difference that in the latter the consciousness is unimpaired, while in Cicuta the functions of the brain are paralyzed, and an entire loss of consciousness is the result. Characteristic symptoms.
