Mind

Sensorium

► Vertigo, especially when walking ; feeling as if intoxicated ; staggering forward ; forgetful. ► Faint feeling, fear of falling ; worse in close warm room, better in fresh air, though he is then chilly. ► Faint in a warm room and when standing, with cold sweat on back of hands and on feet. θ Prolapsus uteri.

Inner Head

► Dull frontal headache : worse over left eye, or alternating from side to side. ► Wild feeling in head as though she would be crazy, with pain in right iliac region. ► Heavy feeling in the head, with morning diarrhoea. ► Drawing hot pain through head and eyes, relieved by frequent sneezing, 10 P.M. ► Fulness of the head, with pressure outward as if contents would be forced through every aperture. ► Shooting in right temples passing over to the left, with a dull, heavy sensation in whole front of head ; dim sight ; pain in eyes, extending to head. ► Dull, pressive aching, from the left temple to occiput ; paroxysmal.

Eyes

► Blurred vision : after seminal emission ; with prolapsed uterus. ► Hypermetropia. ► Presbyopia. ► Muscae volitantes. ► Eyes full of water ; face flushed and hot, pricking in skin of forehead. ► Eyes painful ; sensitive to light. ► Intense pain in eyes, extending back into head ; dim sight. ► Sharp pains over the eyes.

Ears

► Rushing sound in both ear.

Nose

► Frequent sneezing, 10 A.M., relieving a severe, burning headache and pain in eyes.

Face

► Pain in right side of face, right nostril stopped. ► Heat and bloated feeling of face and head. ► Chilly feeling and face in the forenoon ; afternoon fever, congestion to chest ; face and forehead flushed and hot ; pricking in the forehead.

Tongue, Etc

► Taste of blood ; congestion to chest.

Desires And Aversions

► Loss of appetite. ► Aversion : to bread ; to coffee. ► Craving for meat. ► Voracious hunger, seemingly along the spine and up to occiput, not appeased by eating. ► Thirst, drinks often and much. ► Thirst recurring before severe symptoms.

Nausea And Vomiting

► Nausea : constant, with sensation of a lump in stomach, moving at every deglutition ; when thinking of coffee ; with morning diarrhoea ; with pressure in vagina and pain at top of sacrum.

Stomach

► Fulness, disturbed feeling, upward pressure, after eating. ► Stomach distended, with frequent eructations and escape of flatus per annum. ► Hollow, empty sensation in stomach and bowels.

Abdomen

► Dragging down of whole abdominal contents, extending to even organs of chest ; must support the abdomen. ► Bloated abdomen after a meal, continuing after a diarrhoeic discharge. ► Abdomen distended with moving of flatulence, better from passing wind up and down. ► Abdomen sensitive to pressure or jarring. ► Abdominal walls sore, previous to stool. ► Sensation as if diarrhoea would come on, passing off by urinating. ► Bloated feeling in region of uterus extending to hips. ► Abdomen distended and sore after menses cease. ► Empty feeling of abdomen and stomach. ► Weak, tremulous feeling extending to anus. ► Skin of abdomen feels stretched and stiff.

Stool, Etc

► Morning diarrhoea, stools loose, bilious ; dark, offensive, very urgent, can't wait a moment. ► Stool preceded by gripping pains or great urging, with pressure on the rectum ; followed by smarting, burning of anus. ► Tenesmus and great desire for stool, but every effort resulted only in voiding a little urine. ► Escape of flatus, with great distention of stomach and frequent eructations. ► Hemorrhoids after delivery, sore to touch, itching ; bearing down at stool as if all would protrude through vagina.

Urine

► Frequent urination through the day ; with dull headache moving from sinciput to occiput, finally settling in left temple. ► Frequent urging, with acrid smarting after every discharge ; urging worse towards morning. ► Continuous pressure in region of bladder, constant desire to urinate with scanty discharge ; smarting in urethra and tenesmus. ► If desire is not attended to, feeling of congestion of chest. ► Urine : milky, scanty ; increased and dark ; hot, like boiling oil.

Male Sexual Organs

► Desire increased. ► Lascivious dreams and emissions, followed by ; irritability, difficulty in fixing one's mind, selecting wrong words.

Female Sexual Organs

► Sexual desire increased ; obscene. ► Ovaries : Burning, stinging, cutting, grasping in ovaries (left) ; pains extend across hypogastrium, to groin, down leg ; bearing down when standing ; sensitive to pressure ; ovary swollen to nearly size of child's head. ► Bearing down in uterus, pains in left ovary and left mamma. ► Menses : scanty, flow only when moving abut ; dark, thick, smelling like the lochia ; on second day after time to menstruate, cutting in bowels, limbs clammy ; followed by profuse, bright yellow leucorrhoea, excoriating the perineum. ► Severe neuralgic pains in uterus, could not bear touch, not even weigh of bedclothes or slightest jar ; anteversion. ► Aching over the pubes, with pain in knees. ► Bearing down in uterine region as if everything would be pressed out ; relieved by pressure with hand against vulva. ► Bloated feeling in region of uterus ; pelvic organs feel swollen ; aching apparently around, not in, the uterus. ► Intermittent sharp pain across lower bowels. ► Burning from groin to groin, with morning stool. ► Intermittent labor-like pains in lower part of back, with a thin, acrid, excoriating leucorrhoea, leaving a brown stain ; worse afternoon until 12 P.M. ► Pressure on anterior wall of rectum. ► Voluptuous itching in vagina, with feeling of fulness of parts ; stinging in left ovarian region. ► With the bearing down : low-spirited, weeping, apprehensive ; irritable ; opposite and contradictory mental states ; urgent desire for stool ; anorexia ; faint in close room and when standing ; frequent, scanty, burning urine ; pain in sacrum ; bloated feeling in abdomen ; limbs cold, clammy.

Pregnancy

► Delayed post-partum recovery (subinvolution) ; lochia lasts too long, is profuse, excoriating ; dragging pains ; smarting in urethra after urination fears an internal incurable disease. ► Cutting in left mamma through to scapula ; sighing ; short-breath. ► Cramp-like pain in left mamma, shoulder and fingers.

Breathing

► Breathing oppressed, with oppression in lower pain of chest ; worse 4 A.M. ► Short, oppressed breathing ; sighing ; frequent desire to take a long breath. ► Feeling of compression and weight. ► Chest feels as if too full of blood ; slight relief from sighing ; oppressive heat, must go into open air ; worse in close room ; with taste of blood, faint feeling ; weak heart-beat, blurred sight, fear of falling.

Lungs

► Full feeling in chest, with distended abdomen. ► Constricted sensation in left side of chest, extending, to right, with sharp pains running up to throat, clavicle, left axilla and scapula ; better from changing position.

Heart And Pulse

► Heart feels as if squeezed in a vise. ► Heart feels as if grasped, with pain and heaviness of left mamma to scapula. ► Heart as if violently grasped, then suddenly released ; and so on alternately. ► Constrictive pain about heart, extending through to scapula. ► Heaviness in region of heart. ► Palpitation worse from lying no either side. ► Fluttering, general faint feeling, hurried and forced feeling about the apex ; better sitting still. ► Fluttering : awakens her at night ; with cold hands and feet covered with cold sweat ; with sharp, quick pain in left chest. ► Conscious pulsations over whole body, and out-pressing in hands and arms, as if blood would burst through the vessels.

Neck And Back

► Dull pain in nape of neck, with feeling of constriction. ► Pain in back and left scapula, seemingly from left mamma. ► Pain in dorsal vertebrae, if the back would break. ► Cold feeling in back. ► Dull, heavy pain and great weakness in small of back. ► Dull pain in lower back and sacrum. ► Sensation of pulling upward from tip of coccyx.

Upper Limbs

► Dull pain in left shoulder. ► Drawing pain in left shoulder and neck ; sitting in left mamma. ► Right hand and arm stiff and painful during the night, abating 8 A.M. ► Arms and hands stiff and hot, as if parched. ► Stiffness of the fingers almost like paralysis ; difficult to guide the pencil. ► Pricking in fingers almost like paralysis ; difficult to guide the pencil. ► Pricking in fingers and hands ; sensation of an electric current, first in fingers of left, then of right hand.

Lower Limbs

► Pain in right hip, extending down the thigh. ► Boring ; soreness ; stitches ; or drawing pain in right hip-joint. ► Grasping pain in knees. ► Heavy aching in knees. ► Trembling of knees, abdomen, back and hands. ► Dull, heavy pains from knees to toes, moving suddenly from place to place. ► Legs ache ; cannot keep them still ; worse when giving up control of herself, as when trying to get to sleep. ► Burning, beginning in soles and palms, thence over body ; worse in bed, constant desire to find a cool place.

Limbs In General

► Burning in palms and soles. ► Limbs cold, clammy, more when excited or nervous. ► Whole body feels bruised and sore, even pressure of clothing is painful ; hands and feet as if pounded ; sole sore, worse when stepping.

Position, Etc

► Worse walking, yet pains so much worse after ceasing to walk that he must walk again. ► Changing place : 33. Walking : 2, 23, 36. Stepping : 34. Changing position : 28. Standing : 2, 23. Sitting still : 29. Lying : 29.

Nerves

► Weak, trembling, nervous. ► Nervous system irritable. ► Aimless hurry and motion ; walks to and fro ; cannot be amused by thinking or reading.

Sleep

► Sleepy before bedtime. ► Inability to sleep, worse before midnight. ► Restless sleep : with wild feeling in head ; with frightful, laborious dreams ; everything seems too hot ; with seminal emissions, dull headache, palpitation ; with mammary pain.

► Morning : 3, 7, 16, 20, 21, 23. Forenoon : 8. Afternoon : 8, 23, 40 ; till midnight : 23. Night : 29 ; till morning : 32. Before midnight : 3, 37. 4 A.M. : 26. Day : 21.

Temperature And Weather

► Close warm room : 2, 23, 26. In bed : 33. Open air : 2, 26, 40. Desire for cool place : 33.

Chill, Fever And Sweat

► Chills run downwards with violent beating of heart ; with congestion to chest and burning heat all over ; with constriction about heart. ► Chilly when in cool, open air ; yet otherwise better. ► Greater heat and lassitude in afternoon, with throbbing all over.

Sides

Sensations

► Pains in small spots. ► Shifting pains. ► Pressing out, as if blood would burst through the vessels. ► Throbbing, as if in all blood-vessels.
